There really aren’t enough adjectives to describe the beauty of photographing Colorado in Autumn. Typically starting on the first official day of Autumn (this year Sept. 22nd) and going through mid October you are likely to encounter the most amazing swatches of yellow and orange God has painted upon the land.
Last week (July 12-14) my wife and I took a swing through Gunnison and Crested Butte, Colorado for the annual Crested Butte Wildflower Festival. We were overwhelmed by the volume and diversity of the wildflowers in this beautiful area.
We found two main resources for “miles of wildflowers”, Washington Gulch and Gothic Road. Both are located north of the Crested Butte ski area.
