This is a true “combat photography” situation. There were literally thousands of people there to witness this event. It takes place in February for about a possible 10 days when the sun sets and there is enough water in the 30 acres above Horsetail Falls to light the falls during the last 4 minutes of sunset. I actually saw people leaving before this happened because they thought they’d been skunked.
This event draws loads of photographers from the novices with iPads to perennial pros like Thomas Mangelson who was situated next to me.
